AXBL Event 2
Paintball Quest in Sodus, NY returned to host the AXBL once again.  The grass was perfect, fields were flat, and games ran on schedule.  Saturday kicked off the MXL division with a little rain.  It did not seem to effect the spectator turn out however.  With some important matches to be played, the sidelines were full of umbrellas.  Brooklyn Tempo proved how strong they can be taking down Annapolis Assault 12-3.  Many believed this match to be the division clincher.  Greensbrug Distortion showed that they have exactly what it takes winning again against Rockport Rage 12-3 as well.  No one yet has found a way to stop Bronx Hate.  They are steam rolling and it will be no surprise to see them in the AXBL in 2010.  Ithaca Marauders have finally found their first win.  Some bad luck has plagued Ithaca but it looks like they will be turning things around.

On Sunday, the AXBL teams rolled in.  Day started off with a big match up.  Rockland Hustle faced Attica Intent.  Both teams have been involved in the league for 2 years at least and never had to play one another.  This game drew a crowd as well.  Rockland won the game and played very smart paintball.  Rockland couldnt shed their rep for penalties however with a major near the end of the game.  Attica brought it back at the end but Hustle was victorious with a final of 11-7.  Albany Powersurge came to play almost taking out the strong new Atlantic City Arsenal.  Arsenal just edged them out 11-8.  Lake Placid and Newark proved to be evenly matched with a 10-10 final.  Game of the day goes to Upton and Atlantic City.  Upton taking some early penalties gave Arsenal quite the demanding lead, but they were not able to hold on to it.  Upton took the match by 1.  Upton has really proved that they are a contender and look now to clinch the division.  Pittsburgh Propaganda came a long way and showed a lot of heart.  Having to play 2 of the stronger teams in their division in a single event is no easy feat for any team.  Although they lost, they gained at the same time.  They gained a lot of respect from the other teams in the league as they never quit and never slowed down.

AXBL proved once again to put on a great event.  Players left happy and despite a little spinkle, another event goes down in the record books as an A+.  The level of competition in the league is really getting much stronger and the AXBL truly is "Making good players great".  Check back for event 3 coverage as we are right back in Sodus, NY.  Dont miss out!
